The McLaren 765LT is the extreme version of the 720s which is already out of this world. It comes as either a coupe or a spider but no matter what you choose, you will have the coolest car in town.
The 765 in the name relates to the amount of horsepower and LT stands for long-tail because, you guessed it, it has a longer rear end then the regular cars. 765bhp and 800Nm of torque launch this car from 0-60 in a mind-blowing 2.8 seconds, now that is super car speed.
This car is literally a scientific experiment, the aerodynamics and weight allow for this car to drive extremely quickly around a track which is what it is built for. The McLaren engineers have really outdone themselves here, taking an already wicked 720S and making it 100x better.
In terms of looks, who wouldn't like that? To put it simply, it is a beautifully made car but I suppose this is something that McLaren are used to making. Ever since the F1 they released back in 1992 they haven't made an ugly car which is actually quite impressive. The front is so aggressive, the side silhouette is sexy and the back is mean with the active spoiler and quad exhaust.
The 4.0L twin-turbo V8 makes for a fun, fast and scary drive. But most terrifying of them all... its rear wheel drive. That much power with that little weight driven by only two wheels allows the back end to fly out when going around a corner. If you know what you're doing, this might just be the best possible car to buy for racing. If not, you best have life insurance...
As I am sure you can imagine, the 765LT, being a McLaren, has a pretty high price tag in the window. If you were to buy one of these brand new, it would set you back around £300,000. That may seem like a lot, but you are paying for a limited production, super sexy, track car which can also drive on the roads. I think it's worth it.
Is this McLaren's greatest car since the P1?
JSR Score: 10/10
